What is up with the football craze in Australia? As a person who utterly hates sport, I think it's natural that I don't understand what exactly is so great about it. Everyone is talking about the draw last weekend..facebook groups, online discussions, all over TV..but really, what's the big deal? And honestly, how does talking and posting about it constantly help the situation at all? Answer-it doesn't. The people who create groups about it on facebook are merely searching for attention, trying to get as many 'fans', 'likes' or 'members' as possible, and the programs regarding it on TV are merely trying to get money from the sad people who care about it enough to hear about it, read about it, and watch it over, and over, and over again! There is so much more out there to do throughout the week, whilst waiting for the second 2010 AFL frand final, besides watching the first 2010 AFL grand final. Read a book, go shopping (my favourite activity..other than acting), go out with friends, something..anything that doesn't involve re-living something that happened in the past week..or..if you like..something that happened back in 1977! And if you're wondering how I know that..no I'm not one of the people sitting back a re-living it..I'm merely one of the poor people who have had to hear about it constantly from a friend or family member.
Apparently "I'm now a man" and "Men like football, son!"
If I wanted to watch a group of men running around flinging balls everywhere, I'd just go to a gay bar!
Pheu, end of rant.
